Teatro Municipal " Prof.ª Olympia Faria de Aguiar Adami" (Sertãozinho/SP)
Ciclomáticos Companhia de Teatro is part of the program for the Virada Cultural de São Paulo 2025, one of the most important cultural events in Brazil.
The company presents the award-winning show Casa Grande e Senzala - Manifesto Musical Brasileiro at Teatro Paulo Eiró, on May 25th - Sunday, at 7 pm. ONLY PERFORMANCE WITH FREE ADMISSION.
Synopsis:
Cyclomáticos Cia. de Teatro is inspired and freely exudes from Gilberto Freyre's controversial work as a text and pretext to tell, through music and legends, a little of what the Brazilian people are today. Starting from the indigenous, black and Portuguese people, passing through the songs of the washerwomen, the country folk and the popular poetry of the sambas de enredo, the show brings, through an anachronistic and non-linear narrative, referenced by Teatro de Revista, a little of this Brazil that lives in each one of us. This Brazil, once a child, now a teenager, sung by Os Ciclomáticos Cia de Teatro, written and directed by Ribamar Ribeiro, is a little bit of all this, this delicious mix, these beautiful people. It is a little bit of this history that continues to be written by each one of us.

The text is a fable, combined with fairy tales about the almost impossible love between a cat and a thrush (enemies by nature), addressing in a light and fun way the difficulties faced by the couple. The play was inspired by the classic work Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, and as a basis for research, the tales of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm, in addition to the children's text by Jorge Amado, O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinhá. The book The Psychology of Fairy Tales served as an interpretative basis, assisting in the direction and scenic construction.
SYNOPSIS

SINOPSE
